Could Legacy of Kain be back?

50/50 chance.

There is a 50/50 chance of the Legacy of Kain series will have a new title in the future according to Crystal Dynamic's senior designer Michael Brinker; if those chances were in a casino, they'd be the best odds.

This is what was said during an interview with finder.com.au:

“It’s a 50/50 chance. We have in-house developers who really want to make that game. It’s interesting because people look back at our history and our franchises and see that we have some really great iconic IPs. So gamers wonder; ‘where are they and what are they doing?’ Well we’re always tossing around and talking about ideas. It really is 50/50.”

Here's hoping there's a return to the series as both the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen titles, within the Legacy of Kain series, set a high benchmark for storytelling in games. With distinctly Shakespearean dialogue, the narrative following Raziel and the titular Kain spanned thousands of years, having some of the best twists and turns that time-travel allowed.

There is no way of knowing what a new Legacy of Kain title would be like, but as long as it maintains the atmosphere of the originals it can't go too far wrong. Unless, of course, it won't bring back certain characters without good reason...
